Basic Curriculum – Basic Skills
- Complete online training modules.
- Watch introduction lecture.
- Attend hands-on intro workshop for orientation to robotic surgical system.
- Complete VR robotic simulator modules (≥85% score for each task):
- URO – 3x Basic modules, 1x Advanced module
- GYN – 3x Basic modules, 2x Advanced modules
- OPTIONAL: Complete 1 porcine or cadaveric model training session (based on availability)
- Complete 5 cases as bedside assistant with at least 2 achievements of competence.
- Complete 10 cases as console surgeon with at least 3 achievements of competence.
Advanced Curriculum – Procedural Skills
- Complete 5 additional cases (total 10) as bedside assistant with at least 2 achievements of competence.
- Complete 10 additional cases (total 20) as console surgeon (>50% of case as primary console surgeon) with at least 2 achievements of competence.
- OPTIONAL: Advanced Procedural Training (specialty-specific requirement)
- Use procedure-specific assessment forms to keep track
Certification
Upon completion of Basic curriculum you will receive:
- UHN Robotic Surgery Training Curriculum (Basic) – Certificate of Completion
Upon completion of both Basic and Advanced curricula you will receive:
- UHN Robotic Surgery Training Curriculum (Advanced) – Certificate of Completion
- Eligibility to receive Intuitive Surgical Training Equivalency Certificate (requires Program Director sign off)
